Learn how you can use Twitter to increase business!

Marketing yourself on Twitter is a GREAT way to get new clients and keep current clients up to date on your specials. If you aren’t marketing yourself on Twitter YOU’RE MISSING OUT!

First go to twitter.com/signup and create a twitter account:

Once your account is created you can Connect Your Twitter Account With StyleSeat.

Twitter allows you to post or “tweet” information that other twitter users can see (similar to Facebook Status Updates). 

When you Tweet something, everyone that is “following” you will see it. One of your first goals on twitter should be to get more followers!

How do I get followers?

  • Email your clients and friends your Twitter Handle (@Username) and ask them to “follow” you so they can get updates about the industry, as well as your business.
  • Run a special “twitter deal” that you tweet out so only your followers can see
  • Find your clients, your friends and anyone else that is relevant to your business on Twitter and “follow” them. Lots of times they’ll follow you back, too! 
  • Use the “Who to Follow” feature to find relevant users to follow

Make sure you put your StyleSeat URL in your Twitter Bio so clients are just one click away from booking with you. Once you have some followers, twitter is an amazing tool to improve your business!

What should you post?

Use Twitter to direct traffic to your StyleSeat Profile Page

            -We provide a default message for you but it’s more effective if you make a more                              personalized message for your clients 

  • If you have a cancellation let your clients know you have an opening and post a link to your StyleSeat Profile
  • Promote new specials, new employees, or any other new improvements at your Salon/Spa by tweeting about them.

Be a voice in the beauty industry!

Clients who find your tweets informative are more likely to follow you closely and book with you.

  • Tweet beauty tips for your clients to try out.
  • Retweet (Click HERE for more information on Retweets) articles you found educational that your clients might enjoy.
  • Rather than clicking Retweet, some users like to comment on a tweet and re-post the tweet for context. 

 
Do this by clicking “Reply” then type your message followed by “RT @__ (the original Tweeter’s Handle) and the original message” 


Be Professional

  • Twitter can be a fun social tool too! Just remember to keep in mind that your clients will be viewing your Tweets. 
  • Be friendly but don’t tweet anything that could reflect poorly on you as a Professional.
How to Phrase your Tweets
  • Tweet using phrases that grab people’s attention and entice them to click!
        -“Looking for a haircut?? All first time clients receive $10 off!!” works much better than                      ”New clients get $10 off”
Use Hashtags #
A hashtag is when you put the # symbol in front of a word in a tweet. (For example #Style or #Pedicure). Using popular hashtags is a great way to get your message directly in front of a lot of people. 
  • By including relevant hash tags in your tweets, anyone searching for that hashtag will see your tweet, ever if they don’t follow you!
  • If you are tweeting about a haircut, try including #haircut. Generally anyone looking for a haircut on Twitter will search for #haircut first to see everyone posting about haircuts.
  • Pay attention to which hashtags are popular so you can include them in your tweets and get in front of a larger audience than just your followers

Share your Profile on Facebook and Twitter

How To Promote Your StyleSeat Profile on Facebook

Sharing your Profile on Facebook is a GREAT way to increase traffic to your Profile Page. It lets your current clients know where to find you and helps you bring on new clients as well!

First connect your StyleSeat Profile with your Facebook Account.

Once your connected, share your page on Facebook by going to My Home/My Business/Promote

Next, click on the blue “Share” button after “Tell your friends on Facebook

This will create a post you can share to your Facebook wall or the wall of a friend. Add a custom message in the text box and click the “Share” button to send it to your friends on Facebook.

Congrats! This will send a message into the Facebook feed which your friends can see and click on.

How to Promote Your StyleSeat Profile on Twitter

First connect your StyleSeat Profile with your Twitter Account.

Then let your Twitter followers know about your StyleSeat Profile by clicking the “Tweet” button in your Promote tab

Don’t have many followers? No problem! Your twitter feed will be streaming on your Profile Page so anyone viewing that page can see your updates. Think of it as a way to talk to your clients and be an industry voice for them to follow. AND, with just one click they can start following you.

To connect your StyleSeat Account to your Twitter Account go to My Profile/Edit Profile/Basic Info. Then enter your Twitter Username and click “Save”.

If you don’t have a lot of followers yet, Twitter can STILL benefit your business! We let you stream your feed in the lower right corner of your StyleSeat Page, so you have a direct connection to your clients!

Anyone on your page can view your tweets and can easily click “Follow On Twitter” to start following you.
Put your StyleSeat URL in your Twitter Bio so anyone checking out your page can be one click away from your StyleSeat Page!

Photo Sharing!!!

You and your clients can share your work!

Now you can share the photos you upload to your Gallery on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest!

To Share, go to “My Profile” and click on any of the pictures in your gallery. In the lower right hand corner of the picture you will see an “f”, “t” and “P”.

Facebook

Click on the “f” icon at the bottom of your photos to share them on Facebook!

Click on the drop down menu to choose where your post will go.

Then, write a quick message and click “Share Link” to post it!

Twitter

Click the “t” icon to share your photos on Twitter. We auto-shorten the link for you and you can either tweet our default message or delete and create one of your own!

Pinterest

Click on the “P” to Pin a picture on Pinterest. Leave a comment and “Pin It”

Improve your page ranking!

What’s a Page Ranking?

Did you know that every web page on the internet is put into a ranking system that effects its placement in search results?  This includes your StyleSeat profile as well as how your profile is searched for and found in StyleSeat’s directory search.  There are a few variables that can help bump up your profile into the top search results when potential clients are searching your services and location, and we wanted to share them with you!

First things, first.

What determines my page rank?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a tool StyleSeat, as well as many other websites or search engines, uses to help users find the best of what they are searching for.

The order of appearance in search results (besides the listings in the light yellow box, those are paid for) is dependent upon relevance of keywords between the searched item, and the pages being searched. For example, if your StyleSeat profile lists you as a hairstylist in San Francisco, CA, and you offer a haircut as one of your services, someone who types in “haircut, San Francisco, CA” will receive your profile in their search results, though not necessarily on the first page.

How do I improve my page rank?

There are a few things you can do to improve your page rank for your StyleSeat profile:

  • Make sure you use the correct words, and simple descriptions when defining your profession and services. These provide the keywords that will help your page show up in search results. A client won’t typically search “Fabulosity Fierce French Manicure”, But they will search “Manicure” or “French Manicure”.

         

  • Ask your clients to write you recommendations on your profile, or have us do it for you! Find out how

         

  • Encourage friends, family and clients to comment and heart your gallery photos.

          

Recommendations, comments, and hearts are super important because they help to boost your search ranking.  Think of each of these features being worth a given amount of points.  The more recommendations, comments or hearts you accumulate, the more “points” you accumulate as well, generating a “score” and your page ranking.  The more recommendations, comments and photo hearts you receive, the more “points” you accumulate, and the higher ranking of your page.

Is there anything else I can do to generate more attention to my profile?

Of course! Remember earlier when we said “the more frequently listed” links are more likely to be clicked on? Using other sites to list your business in addition to your StyleSeat profile can be extremely beneficial.

Sites like Yelp.com and Googles Places provide an additional search factor as well as rating system.  List your business on either one, or both of these sites and use your StyleSeat profile as your business website link to connect all of them and improve your the traffic for all of your pages.  And don’t stop there! Make sure your StyleSeat profile is connected to your Facebook and twitter pages too.  The additional attention to all of your pages increases the likelihood of generating more clientele and therefore, profit.

The Importance of Recommendations

We just wanna remind you about the importance of gathering recommendations on your StyleSeat profile page!

Why are recommendations important?

We all know that recommendations help potential clients gather a comprehensive view of the pro they’re scouting. But what you might not know is that they also bump your order of appearance in our directory search, as well as your order of appearance on larger search engines like Google. Find out more about how to improve your page ranking.

     

Whether you’re a new professional, or been in the biz for a while, you should always be encouraging your clients to support you. They can do so by clicking on the “Write a Recommendation” link near the bottom of your StyleSeat profile page.

How do I get recommendations?

Ask for them!  Tell each of your clients about your StyleSeat page when they’re in the chair and how much you would appreciate it if they could write a few sentences about their new haircut, facial or manicure. Plus, when a client leaves a recommendation for you, we automatically add them to your client tab, so you can have their info for when you start to send email marketing campaigns. 

Leave the work to us:

If you use StyleSeat for online booking or scheduling, StyleSeat will automatically send out Thank You emails to your clients after their visit with you. Each email thanks your client for coming in and asks them to write you a recommendation. Find out how to start using us as a scheduling tool here

Social Media:

The internet is your friend! Using Facebook, Twitter, and even your personal marketing emails can help you reach out to all your friends and family members, who are always willing to help you out. Don’t be afraid to ask them for some love! 

Did you already get some recommendation love? Don’t hesitate to tell people! Show off the fact that your clients really appreciate you by sharing your recs so others can see them. For every 6 recommendations you receive and share you are guaranteed one new appointment booked! The best part? You can share them as many times as you want! Just head to your Client Recommendations Tab.

Remember, recommendations are the evidence of happy clients, and having tons of happy clients leads to more happy clients, more income, and more opportunities!
